The Compensating Lock Mechanism allows top drive torque to be applied directly to the casing without reducing the DWCRT load rating and eliminates casing deformity by controlling slip pressure. CLM allows the release torque to be significantly less than the makeup torque and automatically compensates while making up threads to eliminate driller top drive manipulation while making up thread at every casing joint.

Advantages to DrawWorks - CRT

• Can do 15.1 PPF 4.5 with 140 ton of weight
• Can do 25.3 to 26.8 PPF with 225 ton or 300 ton, 20-23 PPF of weight
• Weight will not decrease when torque is applied
• Able to lift more weight with smaller sizes of casing
• One die size will fit all weights of that size of casing. If you are running multiple weights or have a different weight landing joint, you may just have to change it.
• Has a lock mechanism built in when rotating casing or make-up joint and will not increase the torque put on the dies.
• Has a compensator built in so dies won't pre-release by accidently hitting the casing
