CASING RUNNING TOOLS
Volant - Internal
The Volant CRT is designed for top drive equipped rigs and its compact design is compatible with most rig configurations and sizes. The completely mechanical design will simplify operations and minimize downtime. Volant is designed for casing running with top drive equipped rigs to reciprocate, rotate, fill, circulate and cement casing and liner strings, reducing non-productive time and associated costs. This tool is mechanically activated in tension and both rotational directions by top drive control using TAWG (Torque Activated Wedge Grip) technology. It's operation and rig-in remains instinctively simple: A dual release safety mechanism combining weight and reverse rotation, is necessary for the CRT to be released from the casing. This tool will effectively assist in getting our casing to bottom while reducing workers on the rig floor.
Hoisting Load: 120 - 660 TON
Torque Output: 13, 000 - 85,000 Ft. lbs
Circulating Pressure: 5000 PSI
Maximum Flow Rate: 6.9 - 27.7 bbl/min
Volant - External
The Volant External Grip Casing Running tool is designed for casing running or drilling with top drive equipped rigs to make up, breakout, reciprocate, fill, circulate and cement casing and liner strings, reducing non-productive time and associated costs. Casing drilling is achieved through the standard tool configuration.
Hoisting Load: 500 TON
Torque Output: 40,000 Ft. lbs
Circulating Pressure: 5000 PSI
Maximum Flow Rate: 1.07 m3/min
The Compensating Lock Mechanism allows top drive torque to be applied directly to the casing without reducing the DWCRT load rating and eliminates casing deformity by controlling slip pressure. CLM allows the release torque to be significantly less than the makeup torque and automatically compensates while making up threads to eliminate driller top drive manipulation while making up thread at every casing joint.
